South-India to take steps to counter Love Jihad

During my almost two month stay in the South-Indian state Karnataka I had been surprised by the big Muslim community in a state I thought to be Hindu only. It was obvious that most Muslims were wealthier than the non-Muslim community. I saw many big beautiful houses being built in rural areas, according to my local friend they all belonged to Muslim families. My friend also told me that some Muslim men try to lure non-Muslim girls into marriage, with their wealth as a promise. I was little skeptic, but now – two year later – I encountered a story in Indian newspapers that brings more clarification.
The Dutch version of the article can be read at Het Vergeten Verhaal (The forgotten story).
The government of the South-Indian state Karnataka wants to stop the Love Jihad movement. Love Jihad is an alleged attempt by some Muslim men to lure non-Muslim girls with promises of marriage and get them converted to Islam.
